Feline immunodeficiency virus or FIV for short is a virus found only in felines! It cannot be spread to humans or other household pets. FIV+ kitties can only spread the virus to other cats through blood transfusions or extremely deep bite wounds. FIV+ kitties do not require any on going treatments or medications. The virus simply weakens their immune system, causing them to be more prone to becoming sick. Despite this FIV+ kitties can live very long and healthy lives!
